Selfie Propaganda Poster



For this project, we used Adobe Illustrator to re-create a selfie picture of ourselves and make it into a propaganda/ political poster. In my project, I decided to turn my selfie into a propaganda poster for the company we all know and love called "Zoom". I personally believe that zoom is essential for future education with how the world is living with the Coronavirus. This poster is meant to convey the message that as long as you log into your zoom and go to your classes, you will be able to learn best! I believe that with the smile and logos, it convinces the audience to have a good opinion on zoom as a whole, improving the amount of schools to use Zoom for their online classes. I also chose to use a very strong and technical looking font to further push the message to get on your computer and go to class. The political poster that most influenced my design in my poster was the Kennedy and Johnson presidential poster, which goes for a simplistic approach with pictures of them both smiling. I used gradients to make my face, hair, and neck have shadows and look more realistic. I chose these colors for the poster because I liked the way they popped when they were together and the blue is the color that zoom uses in their logo. Overall, I really enjoyed this project and looking at all of the different propaganda examples. This project took be about 6 hours to make, the hair was the most difficult thing to get right, but I am happy with how my poster came out.

    Your propaganda poster is very appropriate and needed for this year! It sends a great message and encourages people to keep working towards their goals. I like the color theme you chose, the blue and purple go nicely together. I would suggest putting one large Zoom logo behind the illustration of yourself instead of having the four Zoom logos. I think people are already very familiar with the Zoom logo so only having one will get the message across.

 For this assignment, we were supposed to pick a picture or movie scene, take a picture of ourselves, and then make it look like we are in the specific scene using Adobe Photoshop. For this project, I chose to photoshop myself into the car scene from "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". I chose this movie because it is one of my all time favorites and I love a lot of different parts about it. I incorporated my tag logo into the shirt the man on the left is wearing, warping the image so that it looks like part of the shirt. Some hard parts about this project was using the stamp tool to get rid of the guy in the background as well as using different masking layers with different opacities to match the color of the original image and the brightness of the sun coming from the left. InDesign Tutorials

Some of my favorite tools that I understand and would like to use are the type tool, the frame tool, the shape tool, and the page tool. All of these tools make it possible to make layouts with different texts and images. I think that these tools will be some of the most common ones that I use in my work.      I think that the hardest indesign tools that I may have to use are the scissors tool and the convert direction point tool. I think that these tools will be difficult for me to use because it is hard for me to understand when I would use them. I think that the scissor tool may be useful, but I don't think that I will have to use it in my assignments because I won't need to cut anything out of my pages. Gunderson Black and White to Color

          In this project, we were to use Adobe Photoshop to convert a picture of ourselves into black and white. After converting our photo black and white, we were asked to add different colors to the picture, following three of the different color rules and using different selection and coloring techniques. The three color rules I chose to follow were monochromatic, triad, and square. I really liked the color combinations with my base color when I was checking out all of the different color rules, so I decided to pick these three. Overall, I really had a lot of fun making this project and I feel like it helped me learn more about arranging layers as well as masking things in photoshop. This project took me about four hours to complete and I am happy with how it came out.
